Hothfield Village Primary School 1874 - 2007
We were a small Primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years old. We were located in beautiful countryside on the edge of Ashford in Kent, next to a wooded area which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Sadly we have to announce that from 31 July our school will be closed by Kent Local Authority.
Unfortunately we were found to be too small for the politicians and policy makers to consider a useful unit. Although our children achieved well, and were happy, there were not enough of them to make an impression on the minds of those who decided we didn't fit in the right box.
Very many thanks to all the teachers, teaching assistants, adult helpers, ancilliary staff and governors who have worked to make the school the unique place it proved to be. Thanks also go to the parents and friends who have supported us over the happy years and during the difficult times of recent months as we progressed towards shutting the doors on the final day.
Moving on but not forgotten.
